Computers are both machines and tools. Girls Can! helps girls learn to understand how they work, and use them to improve their lives.
We focus on enabling girls to understand and embrace technology, providing classroom training, practical applications, mentorship opportunities, and as many real-life examples as possible, via field trips, of women successfully mastering technology and using it to further their careers.
Through our “sister-pairing”, girls learn about the lives of others, similarities and differences, and begin to build a global community. The girls give back by sharing what they learn with others.
Girls learn skills that help in their school work immediately.
Girls learn they can earn a living wage outside “traditional” career paths for women. Through mentors and field trips, they see first-hand women succeeding in IT today.
